Finally, Saro the Musical on stage - PUNCH

It is d-day for Saro the Musical as the production, described as Nigeria’s first broadway show, will open in Lagos. From today (Friday) to Sunday, lovers of total theatre, fashioned after FELABroadway Show but conceived to surpass the type of excitement generated by the likes of UMOJASaro the Musical is produced by Terra Kulture, Lagos Managing Director, Bolanle Austen-Peters, who assembled some 100 youthful actors to tell the story of Lagos in drama, music and dance.

The play will be premiered at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island. Some of the actors say they are eager to give the audience a lasting treat.
While the directors – including Makinde Adeniran and Ayo Ajayi – have also spoken glowingly about Saro, top players in the industry, who visited the artistes at different times in the course of rehearsal, had commended Austen-Peters for initiating the broadway project, which, they note, can change the fortune of live theatre in the country.
Among them are award-winning dramatist, Prof. Ahmed Yerima; veteran actresses Taiwo Ajai-Lycett and Joke Silva; EbonyTV Chief Executive Officer Mo Abudu; star singer Tuface and screen diva Dakore Egbuson.
